I went to Ikegami Honmonji temple that was founded in 1282.
It is one of the most popular cherry blossom viewing place by the scenery of 5-storied pagoda and cherry trees.
I visited there at 6 April 2017 and cherry blossoms were almost in full bloom.
(They are fully bloomed between the end of March and beginning of April every year.)
Somon(the main gate).
It is said that this was built during the Genroku age (from the end of the 17th century to the beginning of the 18th century).
Shikyo Nanji-zaka.
96 steps slope.
Some people in the neighborhood went up and down the stairs many times to exercise.
On the top of the slopes, there is Nio-mon (a gate with two guardian deities).
Walking through the Niō-mon gate, you can see the Shoro (the belfry).
Reihoden(treasure house).
It is opened to the public only on every Sunday.
Daido (the main temple).
Śākyamuni Buddha and the four Bodhisattvas are enshrined in here.
Five-story pagoda that was built in 1608.
It is the oldest five-story pagoda in Tokyo.
The place that I took this picture is in the map above.
I took this picture at here↑
I took it at right under the five-story pagoda.
