7 December – Best time to see in 2017
I arrived at en entrance of Meigetsuin temple at 8:50, 10 minutes earlier before opening.
Already about 20 persons were waiting for the opening.
It wasn’t so long as the one in the hydrangea season, but I was very surprised by the popularity of this temple.
Ticket counter in an entrance gate.
As soon as I entered, I headed to a main hall(Hojo) to take a picture of the autumn leaves through a circular window.
Already some people made a line to take a picture.
This queue becomes more longer as time goes on.
I took this picture by iPhone 7 Plus without zoom.
Autumn leaves and circular window was far away, so I needed to use a zoom lens for smartphone.
I took this picture with 3.5 times zoom by iPhone with attaching 2x telephoto lens of Switch 6 for iPhone 8 Plus / iPhone 7 Plus.
If you don’t wear any lens to your smartphone, you will need 8 – 10 times zoom.
After finished taking pictures, I moved to the entrance of inner garden which is located at side of the main hall.
This is a ticket counter(500 yen).
You can enter this garden for a limited time in the season of autumn leaves and hydrangea.
Right after getting into the garden, there was a nice photo spot on the right side.

The red colors in this garden was so beautiful!
Got out of the inner garden and I walked around the temple ground more.
There was a bamboo forest with autumn foliage.
It was smaller than the one in Hokokuji temple (30 minutes by bus from here), but calm and beautiful.

A small house and autumn leaves.
Katsura-bashi bridge and autumn foliage near the entrance.
This is also my favorite photo spot in this temple.
This scenery of a small Japanese style house and autumn leaves near Katsura-bashi bridge was beautiful, too.
I could enjoy seeing and taking pictures this year , too.

There were few people that made the line to take photo because I went there early in the morning of the weekday.
But in the weekend it will become more long queue.
To take picture like this, you need to zoom in.
